Irish Moss- A dried seaweed that helps coagulate positively and negatively charged proteins, resulting in a clearer beer.
Whirfloc Tabs- An extract of red seaweed specifically formulated to coagulate unstable proteins in your wort. Add 1 tablet per 5 gallon batch about 15 minutes before the end of the boil.
Gypsum(calcium sulphate)- Increases hop utilization.
Heading Powder-Used to promote beer head retention. At bottling time, mix thoroughly 1 oz. of powder into 1 pint of cold beer. Add to batch and stir. May also be used for soda pop. Contains dextrose and gum arabic.
Burton Water Salts- Contains calcium sulfate, potassium sulfate, and magnesium sulfate. Used to duplicate the famous Burton-on-Trent brewing water known for it's pale ales. Use 1 tsp per gal to increase the hardness of your water by 889ppm. Add prior to boil.
Rice Hulls-Helps prevent stuck mash.
Calcium Chloride- 1 tsp. of calcium chloride per gal. adjusts water hardness by 297 ppm. Ca2+and 531 Cl-.
